Medical disclaimer

Mayla is not a medical device or a method of contraception.

Last updated: 2026-10-16

Mayla helps you log your cycle, your pregnancy and how you feel, and calculates estimates based on what you log and on average values published in the scientific literature. These estimates (the date of your next period, your fertile days, your ovulation or your due date) are approximations and may be wrong, especially if your cycles vary, if you have just stopped using contraception, after giving birth or a pregnancy loss, while breastfeeding, during perimenopause, if you have a medical condition or if data is missing.

  • Do not use Mayla to prevent pregnancy. Days marked as low probability are not safe days. If you do not want to become pregnant, use a method of contraception and ask a healthcare professional which one is right for you.
  • Do not use Mayla to diagnose or treat anything. The information in the app is general and educational. It does not replace consultation, diagnosis or treatment by a healthcare professional.
  • Reminders for the pill, injection, IUD or implant are an aid. Always follow the instructions of your healthcare professional and the package leaflet for your method. A reminder that does not arrive (for example, because your phone is off or notifications are turned off) does not change those instructions.
  • We do not guarantee that the predictions, calculations or content are accurate, complete or suitable for your situation.
  • To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for unintended pregnancies or for the decisions you make, or fail to make, based on the app's predictions or content. This does not limit the rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your country.
  • Consult a healthcare professional if you have questions about your health, your cycle, your fertility, your pregnancy or your method of contraception, and before changing any treatment.

In an emergency

If you have very heavy bleeding, severe or sudden abdominal pain, a high fever, fainting or any worrying symptom during pregnancy or after giving birth, do not wait for the app: call your country's emergency number (112 in the European Union) or go to the nearest emergency department.

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, seek help immediately from emergency services or a helpline in your country.

The values Mayla uses come from peer-reviewed studies and from guidelines issued by recognized organizations.
